Your ballot for the October 10 election will feature a referendum question. That question will ask you to choose between retaining our current system of electoral representation OR to choose a Mixed Member form of representation.

Professor Edelgard Mahant, PhD, is a Senior Scholar in the Department of Political Science at York University, and an expert on electoral reform. Professor Mahant will explain how our current system of voting works and how the proposed system would work. She will also answer your questions.

Edelgard Mahant teaches political science at York University. She completed her studies at the Universities of British Columbia(BA) and Toronto(MA) and obtained her PHD at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
