Mr. Michael Wilson, congratulations on being appointed as Canada's Ambassador to the United States. You are probably aware that the US passed the Americans with Disabilities Act roughly 15 years ago. We in Canada usually take the lead in policy innovation, but not in this case. The Americans clearly have taken the Gold Medal here. Ambassador Wilson, we not only need to catch up, but we need a Gold Medal standing on national disability legislation too. Perhaps, as our new point man in the US, you can find out about the American experiences in getting that law passed, and what makes it strong for Americans with disabilities. Perhaps you can then advise our Prime Minister on the lessons learned. Of course, the March of Dimes and Warren's World would be pleased to visit you, Mr. Ambassador, and help out in any way we can. Whether in Canada or among our American friends, we always bring joy!
