Jawny Baker's – St. Clair & O'Connor
It's one of the favourite establishments for Toronto Star columnist Helen Henderson, so we decided to check out Jawny Baker's -- and it was certainly worthwhile. Located at the corners of St. Clair Avenue and O'Connor, there's plenty of parking, including four extra large accessible parking spaces.  All entrances to Jawny Baker's (front, rear, patio) are fully accessible.   Olga Zoras, the manager, warmly greeted us and gave us a tour throughout the establishment.  Olga was very kind to show us around the place. One half of the restaurant features a separate sports bar area (although the bar tables in this room are rather high for someone using a wheelchair or scooter.   The rest of the establishment consists of an extremely spacious and moveable layout.  There are dozens of TV screens that were prepping for the upcoming game between France and Portugal.  The overall layout is highly impressive.  But the wheelchair washroom…this is the best I have ever seen in any establishment in any city.   The washroom is a private room, has three grab bars, accessible sink and soap and smells fantastic. They even ensure that the accessible washroom is only available to those who need it by requiring a staff member to unlock the door for a patron with a disability. This provides the customer with comfort and the utmost privacy. Even the patio is totally accessible, and, by the way, very lovely.   After the tour, the entire staff present there joined us on the patio for a photo, and even offered very nice compliments about the March of Dimes.  Definitely on the thumbs up list for Warren's World.
